Arsenal 3 The Scum 0/FA Cup 3rd Round Draw

December 3, 2006

The defeats against Bolton and Fulham were forgotten yesterday, as Arsenal defeated them Fuckers in white, 3-0 it was. Yes 3-0. We scored 3 and they scored 0. 3-0 was the scoreline, just so everyone is clear. Repeat it a few times out loud, especially if you live or work somewhere with followers of those wankers.

Yesterdays game was decisive for our season, the end, or the beginning. Perhaps not the start of our season, but it could have gone all wrong if we had lost, but we didn’t, and didn’t look like we would lose at any point during the game. We started with 4-4-2! Hurrah! Van Persie and Adebayor up front, with Rosicky and Ljungberg on the wings. I said in my preview that Freddie should start because he knows the passion and meaning of a North-London derby, he did start and played very well. Like I thought he would. 100% effort as usual, but he made things happen for a change, rather than running for 90 minutes without any purpose. Eboue and Clichy were brought back into the side as was Djourou for the suspended Senderos. Djourou proved to me why he should be the first defender to play if Gallas or Toure are out.

Overall we were the better side, by a mile. Spurs rarely threatened and when they did it was feeble.  I wasn’t at all confident before the game and after the first 10 minutes or so, I was slightly more relaxed. We had a shout for a penalty early on, Dawson was all over Ljungberg in the box and it definately could have been given. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but later on the TV it was much more convincing. Moments later Spurs had their arguably best chance of the game, Berbatov (two-bob) cut it back to Malbranque who curled it wide, a rare shaky moment for Emmanuel Eboue.

Then on 20 minutes, Kolo Toure put through Emmanuel Adebayor one on one with Robinson, now before I go on to say he finished it superbly I have this to say, when he was put through at first I was thinking please score it, he has missed a few chances similar to this one already this season, I was pretty much 50/50 and I could just imagine him fluffing it and the Arsenal fans going mental. He didn’t because he finished it superbly. Adebayor ran to Henry who was waiting on the touchline to congratulate him. 1-0 to the Arsenal.

1-0 to the Arsenal

Yet more pressure from Arsenal resulted in another goal, a penalty. We were doing our whole ‘passing it round’ business when Rosicky beat Chimbonda and was brought down by him, Graham poll pointed to the spot. Gilberto stepped up and converted it, his 2nd from the spot this season. When I saw it on TV, Chimbonda definately touched the ball first, meaning it shouldn’t have been a pen, but there was no way in hell Graham Poll could have seen this, he was behind the incident, could not see the ball, it was the slightest touch to the ball, and would have been hard to see if he had a good view. So it was 2-0 at half time and the confidence was flowing now, knowing that just one more goal would finish them.

So, the second half got underway, and It was The Scum who had the better of the opening 10-15 minutes, they only had one shot, sub Jermaine Jenas with a 25 yard drive, Lehmann parried it to Lennon who knobbed it up completely. There was not much to talk about until Robin Van Persie was put through down the wing, muscled past two Tottenham defenders before being brought down by Jenas in the box, another penalty to Arsenal. Yet again, it was abit contraversial as Robin handled the ball before he was fouled. Just one of those days, wasn’t it Spurs fans. Hahahaha.

Robin is congratulated after winning Arsenals 2nd Penalty

Gilberto didn’t let us down, as the stand in skipper made it 3-0, and a brace for himself. Lovely.

Silva Lining

Towards the end Eboue was put through and had a close range shot saved by Robinson. The introduction of Hleb, Walcott and Baptista couldnt bring us that 4th goal, which would have made it that bit sweeter. Three did just fine.

Obviously after the game, Yido’s were blaming the Ref, the Linesman, Jol, Robbie Keane, The pitch, The Emirates, The fixture pile up and they didn’t like it one bit. But they didn’t play well, simple as that. You cannot bottle your biggest game of the season, you dont deserve the lousy support you have. A disgrace a Alan Hansen called it. Even if neither of the Penalties were given it doesn’t matter, because Adebayor WAS onside and we should of had at least one penalty anyway when Ljungberg was brought down.

It was the largest crowd so far at The Emirates yesterday, 5 more than the Villa game. It was the best Atmosphere I have experienced at any Arsenal game, even before kick off (like I requested). We sang all game, so fucking loud. The spurs fans singing was rubbish, even they bottled it, never mind the players. We have Porto on Wednesday, another crucial fixture. Arsene said it would be perfect preparation for the Porto game was to beat Spurs, I think a 3-0 success over them fuckers was perfect.

Walcott – 6

Baptista – 6

Adebayor was brilliant yesterday, he proved himself up at Man united and he did it again yesterday, he works his socks off every game, but yesterday he turned into something more substansial. A great finish and played supberly as a target man, holding it up, winning it back and so on. I was so pleased for him, and myself because I have always stood by him. Most gooners have said he is not good enough, we payed to much etc etc, but yesterday he changed alot of people’s opinoins. Fans were singing his name on the way out of the ground yesterday and as even as far as Arsenal tube, he is a hero now. Hopefully he can carry it on for Wednesday.

Block 11's Man Of The Match

Now moving away from yesterdays game, the draw for the 3rd round of the FA cup took place this afternoon, and we were handed a very hard trip to Anfield. Just like the Carling cup. I was abit gutted to be honest, 63 other teams in the draw and we get one of the top 4 teams in the country. Ah well, we will just have to win won’t we. Its on the weekend of the 6th January, hopefully I will be going.

Thanks for reading, and I will probably speak to you tomorrow about the whole Henry thing. Which has pissed me off. Being blown out of proportion by the press. Not Thierry storming off, that was good to see. He does care.

See ya.

3-0 to the arsenal
